Spring!

It has been so fun to experience all 4 seasons here in Utah and this spring has been beautiful! After 30 years I finally see for myself what popcorn popping on the apricot tree is all about! The streets are lined with trees full of blossoms. Bright yellow daffodils and all colors of tulips are popping up out of the ground.

On Saturday it was just perfect outside. The entire neighborhood full of kids just played outside all day long while the adults mowed lawns and did yard work. My kids played and played and didn't even take a break for lunch.

This is my best friend Lynette next door showing off her nice gardening tools! I tell her that living next to her makes all the pot holes and rude drivers here worth it! She thinks I just like her because she introduced me to the best $5 pizza in town. :)

BBQ Fun

We have been loving this warmer weather! We are lucky to have such great friends here and between our neighbor friends and our school friends, we've been doing plenty of barbecuing and just enoying some of this beautiful sunshine.

Can't have too many backyard barbecues when the weather is like this.

Throwing footballs, riding bikes, going for walks, playing on the swingset....we are loving it!

Clark's Soccer Game

These are from Clark's first soccer game last week. It was windy and cold, but he played hard and had a great time!
Yeah Clark!

Benson's Soccer Game

Benson did great in his first soccer game. He had lots of fun and even scored 2 goals!
Way to go Ben!!

Here are his biggest fans hanging out on the sidelines.

Bailey left with a pink nose and chapped lips (it was cold and windy) but she also had her first taste of Oreos, so she was happy!

Sleepy Head

I went to check on Bailey while she was napping and found her in this position... Now how can that be that even be comfortable?

Snowy Spring

Exactly one week ago we woke up to about 6 inches of snow in our yard. It didn't stop snowing for a day and a half. It also happened to be a long weekend for the boys, so we made some fun out of the white mess. First thing the boys did was build this snow fort/tunnel. It turned out really awesome and they had a great time crawling through and hanging out in their snow cave. Later that afternoon we went to a sledding hill near our house. The boys had a great time while Paige and I played with stickers in the back of the car and Bailey slept. (Didn't want to risk any more injuries to our girl!) Everyone stayed happy, so we got to play for a good 2 hours. We found a fun little jump that the boys tried out with their sleds. I love the looks on their faces!

By the end they were doing a little "sled-boarding" and surfing their way down the hills. The sun was shining and we watched the snow turn slushy. The boys left pretty wet, but they sure didn't seem to mind at all. It was great watching them have so much fun together!
We've had more snow the past 10 days than we've had since before Christmas. It's a little confusing since its April already, but we are just trying to enjoy it while it lasts. Today it is in the 50's and the sun is shining, so it is nice to see some warmer weather moving in. (A year ago I would laugh at myself calling 50's warm!) I won't be surprised if another storm blows in too, but I am very ready to feel some sun on my skin!

Jake and Marissa

Before Jake and Marissa left they played a game of football with the kids. After they drove away the kids came in and Benson said, "Clark, do you kind of feel like crying?" And then Clark rubbed a few tears out of his eyes. Sweet. When I told Jake about it he said he thinks Clark might have been crying because he no longer had someone to defend him against Benson. Could be. But then they went in the basement where Jake and Marissa were staying and said, "Hey, it still smells like Jake down here. Maybe we can put the air in a jar and keep the smell for when we miss him later." Cute. And again later that night I warmed up the leftovers from the Easter dinner we had with Jake and Marissa the night before and one of the kids said, "Aw, this food reminds me of Jake and Marissa." So I think it is safe to say that we all had a great time and will miss having Jake and Marissa around!

Easter Dinner

Happy Easter!! Jake and Marissa came up for conference and it was great to have them around for the Easter festivities as well. We had a wonderful dinner with ham, cheesy potatoes and the works. After dinner we went for a chilly walk on this really neat path nearby that my friend told me about. I can't wait to go back when the trees are lush and green, but it was still a nice walk.Of course just walking wasn't enough for the boys. Jake had fun jumping over the boys as they rode their scooters towards him. Luckly we all came out alive! Paige had fun getting some extra attention too!
