Our Pretty Little Princess

Paige went to a princess birthday party on Saturday and had so much fun. The girls each had a tutu to wear and then had their nails painted. They even got their hair done up with little princess tiaras and sparkles everywhere! I love my beautiful little princess!!

Progression of a Black Eye

On Saturday night Clark and another boy bonked heads while jumping in one of those blow up bouncers. Within seconds the corner of his eye was a huge bump just like in the cartoons. By Sunday morning the bump had spread out more, but he could still open his eye. Monday he couldn't open his eye all day and it turned even more purple by Tuesday. Luckily he hasn't been in any pain and is sleeping well and playing like usual. So here are a few pictures to show the progression of a black eye. Someone told me the third day is the worst, so hopefully it will start to get better soon. We'll see how it looks when it starts turning green and yellow!

It's funny too because at church on Sunday he got lots of attention with people asking what happened and telling him how tough he was. He loved it! Monday he was a little more annoyed, probably since he couldn't even open his eye. When we were at the park, some older girls kept riding their bikes past us and whispering. It was funny to see how people we didn't know would whisper and stare, but not say anything. Then after school some neighbors came over just to get a good look at what eveyone has been talking about. It's definitely the worst black eye I have ever seen! Funny thing is, the kid he bonked heads with was fine!

Zoo Field Trip

On Friday Benson's school took a kindergarten field trip to the zoo. They invited parents and siblings too, so we made a day of it! We only had about 2 hours to spend at the zoo before the buses were ready to take the kids back to school, so we just visited some of the best spots. One of our new favorites is the sting ray bay exhibit. It is a large shallow pool full of all sizes of sting rays. They swim all around and come right up next to you, so it was so cool! We all got to touch them and some of us even fed them shrimp and sardines. Yum! We also went in the squirrel monkey exhibit where you can walk around and the monkeys are jumping through the trees right over your head. After the zoo we treated ourselves to some Bahama Bucks, which was a great way to top off a warm day a the zoo!

Bike Wash

I LOVE our neighborhood! All you have to do here is hang out in the front yard for a few minutes and suddenly kids just start pouring out of the houses. So today, after a fun afternoon of popsicles, sprinklers and riding bikes, we decided to have a bike wash. (I had just finished washing the car, so I guess it was inevitable that the bikes needed washing too!) Here are a few of the fun shots I got of the bike wash in our driveway. Now everyone in the neighborhood has a shiny set of wheels to ride around on!

Clark worked so hard scrubbing every inch of his bike

Benson and his shiny finished productThe little boys had lots of fun with the sudsy waterPaige was having a great time until she got smeared with suds! Poor girl!

Cousin Pajama Party

A few weeks ago Kristin's hubby was out of town and Byron had a late night at school, so we decided to make a night of it. We had all wore our pajamas and made pancakes, eggs and bacon for dinner and watched Enchanted. The kids didn't stay like this for long, but I thought this cousins shot was too cute. And here is baby Cash watching from his throne.

Hey Batta Batta!

Here are some pics from Benson's first T-Ball game. He did an awesome job hitting and even stopped a few balls while playing pitcher. Way to go buddy! Looks like it will be a fun season!

I love this shot as he walked over at the end of the game.

Sorry this took forever Aub, but here goes.....

10 years ago: Finishing up my freshman year of college at ASU. Staying up all night writing papers for my honors English class. Thank goodness for 24 hour Taco Bell! Trying to stay awake through Biology and Art History class.

5 things on my to do list:
*find Benson a lefty tball glove
*clean up the Play Doh mess from preschool
*wash and fold laundry
*cut the boys' hair
*play with my kids

5 snacks I enjoy:
*chips and salsa
*popcorn and orange julius
*toast with melted cheese and honey...it's good, I promise!
*Fruit Loops
*PBJ sandwich made with homemade strawberry jam, mmmm!

5 places I have lived:
*Mesa, AZ
*Mesa, AZ
*Mesa , AZ(almost Apache Junction!)
*Queen Creek, AZ
*that's it!

5 jobs I've had:
*dentist office file girl
*elementary teachers' aide
*demonstrator at AZ Science Center (I got to demonstrate a cow eyeball dissection...awesome!)
*elementary school sub
*MOM (best job ever!)

5 things you don't know about me:
*I was a big time math nerd in school. I think it runs in my family. If I had a lot of time I would quilt more, which I love partly because of the measuring/numbers that it involves.
*Most bugs don't bother me, but any kind of rodent freaks me out. Yuck!
*I've flown in a Air Evac Helicopter. (I had a grand-mal seizure on the way home from girls' camp and stopped breathing. My YW President's husband gave me CPR and they had to block off the Beeline Highway so the helicopter could land. Crazy huh!)
*I went camping (with no air mattress or anything, just me and the ground) along with Byron and the boys when I was just a week from my due date with little Paige. We were just so sick of waiting around here for her to be born that we decided that we needed to get away. Byron is a fast enough driver that I knew he would be able to get to a hospital quick anyways!
*I love to mow the lawn, work in the yard, trim bushes, plant flowers, etc. Something about the smell of fresh cut grass and getting your hands down in the dirt makes me happy. :)

Enough about me! I tag Claire, Katie, Marissa, Angela and Mackenzi
