Progression of a Black Eye

On Saturday night Clark and another boy bonked heads while jumping in one of those blow up bouncers. Within seconds the corner of his eye was a huge bump just like in the cartoons. By Sunday morning the bump had spread out more, but he could still open his eye. Monday he couldn't open his eye all day and it turned even more purple by Tuesday. Luckily he hasn't been in any pain and is sleeping well and playing like usual. So here are a few pictures to show the progression of a black eye. Someone told me the third day is the worst, so hopefully it will start to get better soon. We'll see how it looks when it starts turning green and yellow!

It's funny too because at church on Sunday he got lots of attention with people asking what happened and telling him how tough he was. He loved it! Monday he was a little more annoyed, probably since he couldn't even open his eye. When we were at the park, some older girls kept riding their bikes past us and whispering. It was funny to see how people we didn't know would whisper and stare, but not say anything. Then after school some neighbors came over just to get a good look at what eveyone has been talking about. It's definitely the worst black eye I have ever seen! Funny thing is, the kid he bonked heads with was fine!

Ewww, that is one nasty black eye! It makes my eye hurt! Coby used to get them all the time as a kid, but I don't remember them being so brutal!

Whoa, that's quite a black eye! That's impressive. I'm glad that he's mostly unaffected by it - he really is a tough kid!

Holy cow! That must have been some collision! Poor Clark. Is it just me or does he seem to be the one in the family with all of the accidents?

Poor guy! I have never seen that bad of a black eye! (granted I did grow up with all girls so we mostly pulled hair :)

Ooo, poor Clark!

Good for you to get the progression shots. That is crazy how it just kept getting worse.
