It's Official!!!

Byron was accepted to the pharmacy program at University of Southern Nevada!! There is a campus in Nevada and Utah, and we have chosen to go to the Utah campus and will be moving up there at the end of the summer. We are so excited for this new adventure and look forward to the opportunities it will provide for our family. It will be a busy summer with a new baby, one last summer school class here for Byron and a big move in August, but we are all very excited!!
WAY TO GO BYRON!!!

Blasting Off!

ROCKETS!!
Byron and the boys spent Friday and Saturday building some model rockets, and by Saturday afternoon the rockets were ready to launch. We met up with Byron's dad and then the blasting off began. It was a really fun afternoon and with all the building and painting that went into the rockets, the aniticipation factor was definitely there for the boys, young and old alike!
PREP TIME....
Clark chose to paint his rocket (Big Bertha) green with black and yellow accents
Benson went with yellow, blue and red for his rocket, Big Daddy
(check out Ben's feet-his solution to be sure not to step in the dog poop he ran into on the grass)
THE LAUNCHING GROUNDS
I love the desert in the spring when it is all green and beautiful! Oh, and the kids are pretty cute too!

Vegas

A few weekends ago Byron and I were lucky enough to spend a few nights in Vegas.

Some of the highlights were watching Byron eat this.....twice! (An open faced Reuben sandwich from Carnegie Deli, and yes, it was so good we went back again the next day. Byron doesn't want to see or eat pastrami again for at least 3 years!)

We scored some last minute tickets see Phantom.
After the show we enjoyed some creme brulee and souflee on the top of the Eiffle Tower.Don't mind Byron, he had to keep an eye on the vagrants passing by ;)

A few other Vegas attractions we saw...

This is a model of the new hotel that our friend Dale is working on as part of the construction crew

We even got to see our friends, Dale and Anita, who graciously fed us dinner during some Super Bowl entertainment. It was great to spend time with them. Sorry, I forgot to take pics. :(

But the real reason we journeyed to Vegas (which is overrated in my book, even if you have to go every few years to be reminded of that) is so Byron could interview with University of Southern Nevada to start in their pharmacy program. We're keeping our fingers crossed!!

Valentine's Cookies

We decorated sugar cookies with the cousins to celebrate the big day. Lucky for me the flour and cookie dough mess was at Kristin's house and all I had to do was make the frosting.

For Clark, decorating cookies is serious business.

Not so much for these two knuckleheads!

Every picture I took of Keane he has his tounge out like this. I love that Paige was copying him in this shot too!

We are missing a sister here...We love you Aubree!!

I love that our kids have so much fun together!

A few of the cookies that didn't get eaten in the process.... lovely, aren't they?

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Benson's Shots

Here is what I found on the camera after Benson had been playing with it one afternoon. Apparently these are the things that matter most to this 6 year old.
A branch from the creosote bush they picked while hiking with Grandma. They love it because the bush smells like rain and now they look for creosote bushes everywhere we go.
A self portrait... his first tooth finally fell out, and he was so excited!

Frog and Toad, the first chapter book he has been reading all on his own.

He has been really into drawing lately and this is one that he has spent a lot of time working on.

A 100% on his phonograms test at school.
I guess this boy does have a lot to be proud of!!

Ketchup

Time to "ketchup" again.... Here is what our garden looks like now. The sweet peas are the favorite so far. Yum!

The other night Uncle Jake brought over this awesome go cart that he built. Too bad Clark was too sleepy to see it! Jake and Marissa :)

Here are some more silly pictures of the kids before bed one night.

(Why is that always when they get the silliest?!)
