This is as good as it gets when you try to do family pictures after church with a 10 year old neighbor as your photographer, but I'm glad we captured the moment!I wanted to do some pics with just the girls.
This is what Bailey thought about that...
(not that her reaction was anything new, this happens multiple times a day :))Daddy to the rescue! Now let's try that again...
One of Benson's Cub Scout requirements was to visit a government building, so I thought it would be fun to take the kids up to the Utah State Capitol Building. I really only expected to walk around outside and take some pictures but we ended up going inside and it was so amazing. I didn't even know we were allowed inside but we got to see some really neat stuff! It is such a beautiful building and I love the blossoms in the spring!! Posing by the "Ute"
The capitol is up on a hill just above Temple Square and has some amazing views of the city.
Gotta love the giant marble lions
The House of Representatives
The kids thought it was so cool that a few months ago Byron sat in the balcony when he came to the capitol to sit in on some Rx legislation.
The "Gold Room" - used for dinners and receptions back in the day
Benson making his presidential speech
Lots of neat murals in the rotunda
View of the domed ceiling
Always fun to see names of our pioneer ancestors :)
We met up with Mackenzi at the children's museum over spring break. The kids had a blast as always and Paige was excited to see Halle and Rachel. They used to do preschool with us until they moved last December so they had fun playing together!
Bailey wore this red cowboy hat all over!
Benson and Clark loved the climbing wall
Paige, Halle and Bailey
There is always so much to explore and do here! We had a great time!
Just a few reasons I love my neighborhood! Plenty of girl friends for Paige The boys wanted to hear Scotty play his cello and we ended up with a private concert in the front yard. When the boys get tired of playing football or rugby or basketball, there's always chess, right?!
I got to spend a few days with my best friend in Seattle a few weeks ago. It was fabulous! I loved just being with Byron and remembering how much fun we have together. It has been a long while since we have left the kids too, so it was a great break and I feel so much more patient and loving as a mom since we've been back. Something about stepping back and looking into my life instead of being caught right in the middle, even if only for a few days, really made me appreciate my family! And I think the kids really had fun being with grandma for a few days too. Thanks Mom!!!
